Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 2026
Skillet uses a small number of cookies and browser storage technologies to keep the app working. We don't use tracking cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party analytics scripts.
This page explains exactly what's stored and why.
Essential Cookies
These are required for Skillet to function. Without them, you can't sign in.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Session token | Authenticates your session so you stay signed in | Session / 30 days |
| CSRF token | Prevents cross-site request forgery attacks on forms | Session |
Local Storage
Skillet uses your browser's local storage to remember in-app preferences. This data never leaves your device.
| Key | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Sidebar state | Whether the navigation sidebar is expanded or collapsed |
| Unit preference | Your preferred measurement system (Imperial / Metric) |
| Draft auto-save | Temporary save of in-progress recipe edits (cleared on save) |
| Theme preference | Light/dark mode selection |
Third-Party Cookies
If you sign in with Google, Google sets its own cookies during the OAuth flow. Those are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We don't control them.
Skillet itself sets no other third-party cookies.
