Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

These terms govern your use of Skillet at https://skillet.studio. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

The Service

Skillet is a recipe development platform. You can create, version, and refine recipes; log cook sessions; track culinary skills; plan menus; and use AI-powered recipe tools. We build software for cooking — that's the scope of what we offer.

Your Account

You're responsible for your account credentials and everything that happens under your account. Use a strong password, don't share your login, and let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Skillet. If you're under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian.

Your Content

You Own It

Recipes, cook logs, notes, images, and everything else you create on Skillet belongs to you. We don't claim ownership of your content.

Our License to Operate

To run the service, we need permission to store, process, and display your content back to you. That's the extent of it. Specifically:

  • Storing your recipes and data on our servers
  • Displaying your content within the app
  • Processing content through AI features when you choose to use them
  • Creating backups for data protection

This license exists solely to provide the service. It ends when you delete your content or account.

Sharing

When you generate a share link for a recipe, you're granting us permission to display that content to whoever has the link. You control who gets the link, and you can revoke it at any time.

AI Features

Skillet includes AI tools for recipe generation, refinement, and import. Important things to understand:

  • AI output is a starting point, not a guarantee. Always review AI-generated recipes before cooking.
  • You're responsible for food safety. AI doesn't reliably account for allergies, dietary restrictions, or safe cooking temperatures.
  • AI content may contain errors. Measurements, techniques, and timings should be verified.

Our full AI Policy covers this in detail.

Acceptable Use

Use Skillet for what it's built for — developing recipes and improving your cooking. Don't use it for anything illegal, harmful, or abusive. Our Acceptable Use Policy has the specifics.

Service Availability

We work to keep Skillet reliable and available, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. Maintenance, updates, and occasional issues happen. We'll communicate planned downtime when we can.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Limitation of Liability

Skillet is provided "as is." We're a recipe development tool, not a food safety authority. We are not liable for:

  • Cooking outcomes from recipes on the platform (including AI-generated recipes)
  • Data loss beyond our reasonable control
  • Issues caused by third-party services
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notice.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States.
